Me

My name is Christina and this is my online shop 5trillion. I have always loved making clothes and have longed to have my own label or clothing store, offering people something original and handmade.

The clothes are designed and made by me at home. I studied fashion design and production in Melbourne some time ago now, but never got into the industry for many different reasons. I now live in country Victoria (Australia) and the internet has provided me the opportunity to create clothes and sell them.

Techniques: Hand worked machine embroidery.

I use the needle on my sewing machine like a pencil (or paintbrush I suppose you could say) to 'draw'. This is a technique used by textile artists for many different mediums. I first learned this while I was at secondary school and was studying art and textiles. I saw an exhibition by artist Annamieke Mein, who used this technique for her artwork.
